Complex Glosswork and Waxed Fireplace
The cupboard door was cracked with flaky paint and different levels. The walls had been wallpapered to cover a multitude of bumps, cracks and dents. The final result was very satisfying and completed a 6th room for this customer.

Lounge
A lovely colour scheme using Sandstone and Belgian Chocolate as a feature colour in the recesses. We used short pile rollers to achieve a fantastic smooth finish on the newly plastered walls. Woodwork was painted with water based Satinwood, which looks great and stays white.

Imaginative Bathroom
This room was in a bad state before we started, with walls badly pitted in bright turquoise, with flaking paint, ceiling artex falling off and panelling fitted but not finished. The excellent scheme, involving Eggshell, Gloss, Satin and Soft Sheen on the walls produced a wonderful result, combining Natural Terracotta, Natural Amber and Apricot White.
Painted Tiles
A photo of this size cannot do Blackfriar Brick & Tile paint justice. When the surface is correctly prepared and the paint laid off carefully, it produces a wonderfully silky, matt finish which enhances any room.
Hallway
This had been a dark area, with woodstained door and dado rail and lots of blemishes on the walls where paint was peeling off. There were new glazed doors to paint and newly plastered stud walls to blend in seemlessly. The Front Door looked wonderful in Oil based Eggshell (colour - Cucumber Salad!) and the walls were sublime in 'Sweet Fennell' in a Soft Sheen finish to reflect light.
Dining Room - Labour of Love!
As part of a total redecoration of this lovely house in East Preston, the Dining Room required some experimentation with colours until settling on this beautiful scheme with 'Porcelain' above the Dado Rail and 'Oxford Blue' from Dulux's Heritage Collection below the Dado. The blue is effectively framed by the woodwork, glossed in Pure Brilliant White. Before painting we had lined the walls with paper to provide even porosity and a smooth finish.
Bedroom Makeover
The decorating was part of an exciting plan to upgrade the bedroom by building a walk-in wardrobe, previously an enclosed balcony. A previous built in wardrobe was removed exposing all sorts of problems with the ceiling which then had to be taken back to the plaster and repapered. The beautiful wallpaper was trumped by the luxurious flock paper which will go at the bed head.
Mock Tudor Exterior
On this property we used a water based Sadolin Woodstain on all the woodwork which proved to be an excellent product and we have used it ever since. It is opaque and covers very well. It dries to a lovely sheen, is microporous and flexible so doesn't blister, has no odour on application and dries quickly.
Gardenia
This house in Goring benefited from some Dulux Weathershield Masonry paint in our favoured external colour - Gardenia. The front wall had an old proprietory wall protection coating, which was flaking off! We scraped off all the coating, primed to prevent further defects and applied the Weathershield to match the house front.
Pebbledash
Deep pebbledash encrusted with algae is always a challenge, especially when the adjacent timber is rotting and falling off. With the benefit of full scaffolding we were able to safely address these issues and produce a finish on pebbledash, sawn and planed timber which will protect the house and look good for many years.
Student House in Brighton
The 2 particular challenges on this job were to bring out the features in white and to repair and paint the sash windows which had suffered badly, rotting and back to bare wood. We used a resin based filler which provides an excellent replacement for wood and cannot rot, making it far better than replacement timber. We chose a Sikkens paint system to provide high quality exterior protection to the woodwork. Overall, the house received a great facelift in time for the Autumn Term.
Mock Tudor Splendour
We were able to use a Mobile Tower Scaffold on this job which reduced cost considerably and enabled us to prepare and treat the timber and masonry surfaces to a high standard. At the request of our customer, we used a Solignum product (a black water based opaque woodstain) on the timber which looked fantastic when complete. We now use this product on all sawn timber.
